Developed in collaboration with Onni & Ilona, a children's goods brand, Onni & Ilona: Happy Animals is an app for the visual stimulation of infants. The app presents 12 animals, designed with simple shapes and contrasting colors, that animate in expressive ways when interacted with. Two modalities, movie mode and play mode, offer two types of user scenarios in parent-assisted infant use.
Onni & Ilona: Happy Animals draws on research in the visual development of infants, which emphasizes the use of color, contrast and shapes in activating eyesight. As a company, Onni & Ilona has for years retained a major focus on visual stimulation with their physical products. The app builds on that existing catalog of goods.
In July 2017, Onni & Ilona: Happy Animals was chosen as App of the Month by KaksPlus Magazine.
